A Roman Catholic community has not called and ordained one of its own to priesthood in 1,000 years, - or at least as has been able to be recorded. It has been about the same amount of time since women openly participated in ordained priestly ministry. After calling her to priesthood in the Spring of 2010, members of Mary Magdalene Apostle Catholic Community joyfully ordained Nancy J. Corran on the evening of July 31, 2010.
